Divisions
Administration
The Administration Division consists of the Chief, Lieutenant, Sergeants, Police Clerk and part time dispatch aide.
Administration is responsible for budget, planning, records and daily operations of the Police Department.
Patrol
The Patrol Division is comprised of 2 Supervisors and 12 Police Officers and is considered the backbone of the North Syracuse Police Department. The Patrol Division is the most visible section of the police department, providing around the clock service to the citizens and visitors to the Village of North Syracuse. They are the uniformed officers who provide the first line of defense for the public's safety.
Each police officer works to protect life & property, uphold the civil rights of individuals, preserve public peace, provide citizen assistance, enforce criminal and motor vehicle laws, and respond to emergency situations.
Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigations Division consists of one Investigator. This unit is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations on all major crimes occurring in the jurisdiction of the village, including but not limited to, burglary, larceny, robbery, forgery, assault, arson, homicide and other crimes involving extensive follow-up. The Investigator also analyzes crime patterns to formulate a plan of action to combat recurring crime in our Village.
The Investigator in addition to supplementing road patrol at times also continuously works closely with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to bring criminal investigations to a successful conclusion.

Records
The Records Section is currently staffed by two civilian employees that handle duties ranging from greeting citizens at the reception window to compiling department statistics.
Regular business hours for the Records Section are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
