Click It or Ticket – May 20 through June 2, 2025
The North Syracuse Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across New York State for the “Buckle Up New York – Click It or Ticket” campaign. This high-visibility enforcement effort runs from May 20 to June 2, 2025, and is focused on saving lives by ensuring everyone is wearing their seat belt—every ride, every time.
🎯 Why are we doing this?
Seat belts save lives. It’s that simple. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of fatal injury by 45% for front-seat passenger car occupants.
🚓 What to expect:
During this campaign, our officers will be increasing patrols and checking for seat belt and child safety seat violations—day and night. If you’re not buckled up, you will get a ticket. No excuses.
👶 Keep in mind:
New York State law also requires proper restraint for children in car seats or booster seats, based on age and size. Make sure your kids are secured correctly!
