Attention Village Residents who own 2011-2021 Hyundai or Kia vehicles!
Your North Syracuse Police Department has secured steering wheel locks to protect you and your vehicle against the “Hyundai and Kia Challenge.” We want to help you deter criminals from stealing your vehicle.
Your NSPD will provide village residents with a steering wheel lock FREE of charge:
- You need to be a Village of North Syracuse resident.
- Come to North Syracuse Police Department located at 600 South Bay Road Monday through Friday between 8am and 4pm.
- You will be asked to provide license and registration as proof you are a village resident and a Hyundai or Kia owner.
- You must bring your Hyundai or Kia with you for verification that first, you own a Hyundai/ Kia, and second, you meet the requirements that your vehicle falls within the years of 2011-2021 and the vehicle is started by a steel key. Vehicles with key fobs are not affected.
Locks are available to our Village Residents.
