Sgt. Geoff Linstruth – Handler Public Safety Assistance Canine (PSAC) – Nova
Public Safety Assistance Canine “Nova” joined the North Syracuse Police Department in early 2024! Nova, a labradoodle, is the North Syracuse Police Department’s Public Safety Assistance Canine (also commonly referred to as a “Therapy Dog”). Nova’s is partnered with Sgt. Geoff Linstruth and joined our department to assist with the overall mental health and wellness of our community and officers. Nova is young and full of energy, providing a loving touch to all he interacts with. While off duty, Nova is cared for by Sgt. Linstruth and while on duty Nova spends much time with our officers at the police department and also makes intentional visits to our community! The North Syracuse Police Department takes officer wellness seriously and believes that Public Safety Assistance Canine’s assist with both officers wellness and also support positive interaction between the community and the police department. Nova has brought a great level of energy to the North Syracuse Police Department! Please keep your eye out for Nova at our community events or when you stop in to visit the police department. He’s bound to greet you!
